System:
Intel Celeron 300A (retail) O/C to 504 MHZ (4.5 * 112 * 2.1V))
Abit BH6 MOBO
Samsung G8 CAS 3 125 MHZ (64 MB)
Creative 5X Dxr2 PC-DVD (3rd Generation)
Aver TV/Video Phone
Guillemot Home Studio Pro 64 digital sound card
STB Velocity 128 nVidia 4 MB AGP graphics card
Windows 98, IE 4.01, N/S Comm 4.5, etc. etc.

I'm not much into gaming but I do a lot of DTP/Graphics for prints, some web
designs, plus occassional CADs.
I also use my PC a lot for digital sound recordings. I'm not a professional
recording engineer though.

I'm considering upgrading my video card to either the Diamond Viper V550/16
MB or the STB Velocity 4400/16 MB. But before I take the pull out my credit
card could someone please enlighten me on the following?

1) Will I gain anything, video performance-wise, in making the upgrade,
taking into account my system?

2) The Viper and the Velocity appear to emanate from the same stable as they
have almost identical specifications.
Which is the better card, or/and what are their differences? Why should I
choose one over the other?

By the way, I'm considering the Retail versions and not the OEM.
Many thanks to all.
Richard.
