My sisters Compaq Presario 7222 squeals. I know this is a common
occurrence, I've even heard it has a nickname( which I forget)

This comes from that Multi Card combo "thing" I had to turn the Modem Audio
off in Device Manager as it was unbearable. She still gets the squeal
through PC Speakers in Windows, but I noticed if I re-size or close a
window it diminishes, only to work it's way back up in a minute or two.
It uses ESS sound drivers which I updated.
Is there a way to fix this, I tried my own speakers with no relief??

I hope this is proper, as it's my first message here.

Bill
