Elizabeth;

  This is a common occurrence, I used to play in a band
and once in a while some CB "skip" from a passing car would
boom out over one of the amps. Some of the techno-geniuses
on the list probably could tell you why. I always thought that
 the signal is just so strong that it uses any amplifier as a receiver.

 I don't have a cure for you other than trying a different soundcard
that might not be as sensitive to the radio signal.
