Yes, but they say it "might" be an "mbr virus", see below.

You need a properly functioning Master Boot Record (mbr)
that properly loads the DDO for the Disk Manager Program to
allow the operating system to see the hard drive.
Disk manager has done this in various ways during the
version revisions. It is also essential to use a proper version
of diskmanager that supports Windows 95. It sounds like you have
an earlier version. If it is, you "can?" still "save the data" but
might need a newer Disk Manager version, also.
This is a very "version specific" question. But an easier
answer
is to get the latest version of disk management software from
the hd manufacturer. Some manufacturers oem software even
supports the removal or conversion of Disk Manager to another
brand. (E-Z drive - MaxBlast comes to mind.) Conversion
is recommended "only when absolutely necessary".

If you said the choice was 504m or 515m, I would agree.
To give up 400m out of 800m on a Win95 system is
a little extreme.
Depending on how you want to proceed, the list might need to know:
Your HD manufacturer, your Disk Manager version (on boot
screen,
and the floppy and do they match), and (optional) was Win95 an
upgrade at same time.
This is a low level system question with lots of twists and
turns.
