My daughter received an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas this year. Last
summer while surfing on the HGTV bulletin board I copied the following
recipes thinking I might need them in the future.

Since the pre made mixes that come with the oven all contain milk, we
made our own using these recipes AND substituting the milk with EdenSoy
Extra Original soymilk.

We thought we'd share in case other children might enjoy the fun too!
If you have other recipes we'd love to share them with you. Thanks in
advance.
Deborah

FROM HGTV BULLETIN BOARD POST:

<<<These recipes for Easy Bake Oven "Made from scratch" recipes were
published in our local newspaper, The Akron Beacon Journal, and were
supposedly from the original cookbooks that came with the oven years
ago. They are fun to make up ahead as gifts for young ladies that still
use the oven, by mixing all the dry ingredients and putting them in a
Ziplock sandwich bag. Don't forget to include instructions on what to
add, and how to prepare. They are also a lot cheaper than buying the
mixes if you have a young person who still uses the oven!

Chocolate Cake

6 tsp. flour
4 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cocoa
3/4 tsp. shortening
pinch of salt
6 tsp. SOY milk

Mix together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, cocoa and shortening.
Stir in soymilk until smooth. Pour into a greased pan. Bake in Easy
Bake oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

3 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. shortening
6 tsp. flour
1/8 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. SOY milk
12 to 15 dairy-free chocolate bits

Cream together sugar and shortening. Blend in flour, baking powder, and
vanilla. Stir in soy milk. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by
half teaspoonfuls on well greased pan, allowing room to spread. Bake 5
minutes. Makes 12 to 15 cookies.

Snow Mounds

6 tsp. shortening
3 tsp. confectioners sugar
1/8 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup flour
dash of salt
2 tbsp. finely chopped walnuts
confectioners sugar for rolling

Cream together butter and 3 teaspoons confectioners sugar. Blend in
vanilla, flour and salt. Add walnuts and mix well. Shape into 1 inch
balls. Place 3 balls onto well greased Easy-Bake pan. Flatten
slightly. Bake 5 minutes. When cool, roll in confectioners sugar.
Makes 10 to 12 cookies.
