Kimberly,
I do not have definitive answers, only my experience. So take it as that.
I, too, am quite allergic to molds. But I have immediate symptoms when in
a moldy room. The throat starts to close... never gotten beyond that... I
get myself outta of there quick.
To complicate matters we live in Oregon... home of the mold. I have my
husband thoroughly apply bleach to any mold that appears at home and I
stay out of the way.
I wonder if you were actually reacting to the cleaning agents you
used??? Many mold sensitive people are also carbon-chemical sensitive (not
a scientific term!) and since you have been able to sleep there
previously?? Then again, maybe you really kicked up those molds.
When we lived in Texas, the doc suggested that the bleach treatment would
work, but if we thought the mold were in the pipes or other innards of the
house there are services that will fumigate your place of the mold.
Wish I could be more specific. But there is a solution.
Keep me posted on what transpires.
Good Luck!
Kay Peterson
