How about an aluminum house?? the Aluminaire House was listed as part of
the Wallace K. Harrison Estate on Long Island. The steel-framed
exhibition/demonstration house was sheathed in corrugated aluminum sheets
about 2 1/2 feet by 4 1/2 feet.

The building was disassembled in 1987 and removed from the Harrison Estate
because the owner wanted to develop the land. The New York institute of
Technology has reconstructed the Aluminaire House on its Center Islip
campus. It will be re-nominated to the National Register upon completion of
the reconstruction.

Funded in part with preservation grants from the NY Office of Parks,
Recreation and Historic Preservation.
