We had a kind of brake made up at a local metal fabricators that involved
attaching a die with the appropriate diamond shaped profile to a hinged
weight and. You feed the 90lb rolled roofing into the brake, let the die
fall onto the blank, and presto, diamond shaped shingle. I'd love to lend it
to you, but it's halfway between Whitehorse and Dawson City on the Yukon
River. The 90 lb is a little light compared to the original material, so its
longevity is questionable. The original shingles dated to about 1925, and
provided about 70 years of good service. There are still some buildings
there that are doing well with the originals.

Re: I'm looking for manufacturers/suppliers of
diamond-shaped
asphalt/fiberglass roofing shingles that emulate the look of
the early 20th
century roofing.
For a small job I worked on a number of years ago, I had
roll roofing cut
to the historic diamond profile. That way I got the exact
shape I needed.
