Mike,
Here in Chicago, we are currently monitoring the dismantlement of a 16-story landmark building and the reconstruction of its facade (yes, the City Council approved this).  As far as we know, its the largest such "facadectomie" ever attempted.  We have two other projects underway which involve related issues.  Talk to Eleanor Esser in my office, 312-744-9143.  She is giving a presentation in January at an international conference in Paris on facadism, and is our point person for these projects.
