Dear Mr. Melander,

It is my understanding that in pre-packaged masonry cement crushed lime is
used rather than hydrated lime.

I would like to know 1) why is crushed lime used and 2) what year was the use
of crushed lime with Portland initiated? Any other information you can give me
on this topic would be appreciated.
