I don't know about other trades, but when the micro-notation  "typ"
shows up on a set of plans I'm looking at, it's always by some obscure
item shown only once, that costs a fortune and is needed in at least
38 locations thruout the job, not just on the architectural sheets, but
also on the plumbing, fire protection, and sitework sheets........
and you have to guess where    ;)

it means

"Totals (or exceeds) Your Profit"
