As long as you mention it, I fought back the Christmas shoppers to stop and
look at the University Club this week.  The cleaning is not, as I originally
described it, "a disaster".  The building is a noble design, and too hardy to
suffer in that way.  But the old charcoal-grey, soot-coated granite was
superior.
