Well, let me join in on this thread. My first thought is that you have a problem
with your hard drive drivers. Have you checked in your Control Panel /
System / Performance tab to verify if the system is using the drivers properly?

I have seen instances where the drivers look right in your Device Manager and
are showing in the Performance area as running improperly. If this is the case,
you will need to reload the drivers or find the right drivers for the motherboard.

You should verify that you have proper drivers for all your hardware.

I have not used this motherboard, but one problem I have seen is loading
the UDMA drivers for your hard drive controller vs. the PIO drivers. Generally,
the UDMA drivers can cause conflicts and slow the system. I always load the
PIO mode drivers, expecially for the BX chipset motherboards... to date I
have only worked with the Tyan Tiger 100 and ASUS PB2 PentiumII
motherboards.

If these are not helpful... you might consider the amount of software you have
loaded. Remember that the standard issues of too many Fonts, too many Icons
and too many comments written into the Registry will slow down any system.

This is a difficult one to help diagnosis... but, I hope some of these ideas are
helpful.
