I just wish presenters at conferences were prohibited from reading a
paper to the audience. Presenters should be comfortable and confident
enough to speak from notes. My motivation in presenting is to share my
experiences and some expertise with a willing audience, and to enjoy
being challenged by questions. I am happy to read papers in the
Bulletin or other publications, but I don't want to hear the author read
the article to me at the conference.
