There are alot more in the deep south; on the face of  one story manufacturing
shops and some homes but that is rarer still; the crumb cake finish I will
pass on ..every county here at one time or another manufactured brick or large
tile; my guess is that they were chosen because of availability and that the
freeze thaw conditions are not that severe on masonry...good luck MD
