I hope this is an acceptable topic for this list.I have 2 Pentium
computers, one running Win95a and the other Win95b.I have installed a
SN2000 Ethernet card in each connected with bnc cable and terminators.
There are no conflicts and the drivers from the disk are installed.
I have enabled Client for Microsoft Network,NE2000 Compatible
adaptor,
TCP/IP NE2000 compatible and file and print sharing for Microsoft
Networks.
I have the DNS,IP adress and gateway configured correctly. It was
working this way before a upgrade to one computer.
I have the following lmhosts file in the windows directory:
lmhosts
#192.168.10.1 locust1 #PRE
#192.168.10.2 dustie1 #PRE
The computers see themselves in network neighborhood but they are not
communicating with each other.I have checked the cable and ends .
Could anyone tell me what I have missed or am doing wrong?Or maybe
another way to setup what should be a simple network?
Thank you,
Mike Bridges
