Hi everyone-hope you all had a great, GF Thanksgivings! As promised, a
report on my airline experiences:
Newark to LAs Vegas, a snack, reserved and confirmed GF before flying and
at check in, was a 2" x2" tray of lettuce, with non-GF dressing, pita
bread, and a cinnamon cookie whose first listed ingredient was "high-gluten
flour" :-{
For the return flight, corn chips with salsa (has vinegar listed, so I
played it safe), tray of lettuce, bag of carrot sticks and dressing (same
caveat as the salsa), an apple, and some raisins. Getting better!
Best PArt: at the Trader Joe's store in Las Vegas, I found instant soups
and similar meals (packagefd ina "just add water" cup, like the Lipton Cup
O'Nood.es I used to eat),certified GF by Trader Joes: split Pea, Chili, and
a few other types...I bought 3 to try, and will be taking them on my next
busines trip.
MAybe I sghould give up on the caterer and write to the CEO of Continental...
At any rate, I did have some great Prime Rib at thanksgiving (the turkey
gravy wasn't GF, and I can't imagine plain turkey). Most importantly, I saw
my folks,a nd the food wasn't the focus.
