You can change the pinout of the connector by yourself. Disassembly it
and use a soldering iron to change the connection. It's a very easy
task. The only difficulty is to know how is the rigth connection to your
board, but maybe a guy from this discussion list who haves a similar
board can help you.
The connection of my DB9 is:

        ribbon cable            db9
        -----------------------------
        wire 1                  pin 1
        wire 2                  pin 6
        wire 3                  pin 2
        wire 4                  pin 7
        wire 5                  pin 3
        wire 6                  pin 8
        wire 7                  pin 4
        wire 8                  pin 9
        wire 9                  pin 5

But it's an old Pentium 133 and i think this one is equal to your old
connector.
