Hi Kirt,
Thanks for your reply!
>One approach, especially if one's cassia suplly was
limited, would be to save it for when you are feeling bad/detoxy and only
use it then. Others recommend that it be tested (for attraction) daily for
a few months in the beginning of 100% raw. I know of no rawster who has
"overdosed" on it, even when consuming a few pods in one sitting. If
attention is paid to the flavor and it it not consumed when it tastes
unpleasant, I can't see any problem.<
This is good to know, thanks! I just ordered a 1 lb. jar, and I'll play it
by ear (or instinct).
>On the other hand, like any colon cleaser dealy, some folks might abuse
it.
I can imagine certain folks saying, "Well, I sure blew it last night"
(dietary-wise) and then using cassia to "clean out"--almost a binge purge
type thing.<
Right, fortunately I'm not into that type of behavior and don't have an
addictive or compulsive biology or personality.
>BTW, I have eaten some cassia while eating cooked paleo-foods and it
wasn't
much different than using it all-raw, but that may have been because my
system was so used to it from our Thailand days. Who knows? Not I!<
The only non-raw things I've eaten the past few weeks were some olives
(which 'seem' like a raw food to me) and, very deliberately about 10 days
ago when I felt I needed to get a bit grounded, two 'macrobiotic' style
cooked meals (brown rice and steamed veggies), which I don't have a desire
to really have again at this time. Maybe I'll replace the olives with
something else truly raw to help in working with foods 'instinctively' (??)
