I think you mentioned will power, Liza. People who claim to have given
up an addiction by will power have without doubt picked up another
addiction. People who give up alcohol in AA get addicted to each other.
It's called co-dependency and is the underlying addiction. I can attest
to this from my own experience. It was only by re-experiencing childhood
trauma in therapy and through self help measures, and by releasing my
repressed negative emotions that I lost my cravings and became free of
addictions, chemical and psychological, and including food substances
that are stimulants.
