The differences between 3.1 and 3.11 were mostly in networking support,
which is probably not relevant. No other recent version of Windows will
run on a 286....
Note that while there may not be too many *serious* problems, Microsoft
is not providing any Y2K fixes for Windows 3.x or earlier. You
probably can't get a new BIOS, either, so eleven months from now your
only way to run the machine *might* be the "set the year to 1972"
trick. [In 1972, the same dates fell on the same weekdays as they do
in 2000.]
