True, and a good point, however there is an exception. Very little software out there specified to require a Pentium actually use any special feature of the Pentium, only the speed boost, so although a software package says it requires a P75 or better (or whatever) it will most likely work on 486 calss machines. The thing to look for is a package labeled it requires a Pentium Chip and not an alternative, these things do use some special feature of the Pentium, or at least claim they do. A good example of this is actually hardware, the SB AWE 64 has this requirement and is known not to work on others, such as my Cyrix. TTYL
