Some years ago, I was involved with a neighborhood group that successfully
prevailed upon the City of Eugene (OR) to move a building for reuse as a
community center. The building -- not much to look at -- only
travelled a few blocks, and was accompanied by legions of kazoo-playing
paraders.  We had fun, and the festivities provided some entertaining and
colorful press coverage.
