I have an old Seagate ST419 MFM drive that I'm tring to put into a really
old computer.
I can LLFormat using debug on the controller card, I can FDISK a primary DOS
partition
but when I format; it covers the whole drive but then errors out with "Error
reading partion
table - Format terminated."
I repeated the process and same thing. Is it possible for the magnetic
coating to wear off
that much to cause this and is it fixable?

tia....

Winston
