Hey I just want to put an put to this problem thread to rest; concerning
the PC I modems. Well I followed the advice of my fellow list members and
put the modem in another PC I slot - no help; I went in my BIOS and
disabled both com ports (1 & 2 ) ( my mouse is a bus mouse)also set my
paper setting change from legacy ISA to PCI/ISAAC on the IQR 3 & 4 - No
Help; I then remove the modem ( physically from the machine and boot it
back up w/o it and then reinstalled it again and it still didn't work,
still port already open. So I did what every home PC 'er does, I returned
it for the ISA version and I installed it and works perfectly !! Whew !!!
I don't want to go through that again. Thanks again for all help.

Jerry 'MJ' Hughes {:)
