Hi,

This does not directly answer your query, but may solve your problem.

- I am using a TraxData CDRW and according to the manual that I have, it is
recommend that the two CD-ROM/CD-R be slaved together.

PRI Master IDE -- Maxtor HDD
PRI Slave IDE -- None
SEC Master IDE -- CD-ROM
SEC Slave IDE -- HP CDR+ 8100

- I have use this combination to burn Data CDs and it doesn't give me any problem.
Can't tell about CD -> CDR writing though.
- Also, you will have to jumper the CDR drive to salve and installed the drivers
provided for it.
