Yes, that is precisely what he claims.  The problem, for me
anyway, is to understand how that selection pressure worked.
If D'Adamo is right, the type As, who needed a less meat-based
diet, just barely hung on for thousands of years until the advent
of agriculture, when the dietary wind started to blow their way.
At this point they began to become more numerous.

It doesn't seem, however, that the specific lectin sensitivities
would have served any purpose.
