Just a little bit of devil's advocate. I happen to belong to a profession,
architecture, in which dyslexia can be an asset, and the need for
spelling/writing/reading is almost as low as it can be given today's society,
so I would think carefully before trying to "cure" it. Some of the best
architects I know were/are dyslexic.
Also from what I've read dyslexia is most common in countries where children
are taught to read at very young ages and less common in countries where
learning to read is put off a few years. This would indicate a tie into brain
development more than current environmental conditions.
