Lactose is lactose, no matter what the source.  It probably would
depend on the amount found in a particular species' milk.

Myth. My guess is that the person's digestive system "quieted down"
after constant IBS or intolerance symptoms, then somewhat handled
the milk on first reintroduction -- Continual milk ingestion probably
brought back that "old feeling" once again.  At least with all I've
heard and seen, it is a one way street -- one will either stay at
a particular degree of intolerance or get worse, not better.
