Well, I found one without dairy, but looking closely at the ingredient
list, I see it does have cornmeal (sorry), but I'll include it anyway
for those who may not have the corn issue:
Take a look at a fish stick found in the health store/aisle
(frozen)called Natural Sea Products Fish Sticks-Whole Grain Breaded
Ingredients: cod, organically grown whole wheat flour, water, organic
unbleached wheat flour, expeller pressed canola oil, organic cornmeal,
sea salt, arrowroot starch, spice, onion powder, yeast, garlic powder,
wheat bran.
They are very good, have 10 grams of fat per serving, and have helped us
provide a decent meal to our children when we have been moving, painting
the house, suffering from the flu, or otherwise unable to prepare a more
elaborate dinner. When I first found them, I wrote and then called the
company and was assured and re-assured by a knowledgeable sounding
gentleman that they were absolutely dairy free.
Sorry, no help with the corn-free thing, but I hope that someone else
may find these acceptable. They are expensive, but I now buy them by
the case through our natural foods pre-order co-op (Northeast CoOps),
and they are reasonable, especially when on sale!
