I joined this support list after a doctor suggested that I had a yeast
problem which aggravates my diabetes and that I needed to eliminate
carbohydrates both in order to rid my system of the yeast and to get my
blood sugars under better control. I'm having a terrible problem.

I hate most meats and poultry. Fish is OK. So, I' ve been living on
eggs, cheese, occasional fish, plus fruits and vegetables. After only
10 days or so of eating like this, I'm absolutely gagging at the thought
of eating again. And I mean this literally. While eating my last meal
(scrambled eggs and an apple), I literally was gagging and having a
difficult time swallowing and keeping it down. Even the smell of meat
(especially poultry) cooking makes me gag.

I'm starving all the time yet have not lost a pound, have developed an
extremely acidy upset stomach, and have terrible headaches. In fact, my
concentration levels have plummeted which makes studying for my college
courses very difficult. I feel worse - not better and my glucose tests
have not improved at all on this diet.

My doctor says this is withdrawal from the carbohydtates. If so, have
any of you experienced the same? How long did it last? What would you
suggest I eat? I desperately need menu ideas. I'm so grossed out by
the thought of eating what I seem to be limited to that I'd rather not
eat at all. HELP!
