Hi Rex,
>I suggest you contact Dave Pelly in Kitchener, Ontario (519-895-2798).
>Dave, an agronomic consultant, works across a good bit of Canada. He recently
>published a Brix chart with certain numbers higher than any I had seen before. When I
>asked why, he said "Because the farms I'm working are now getting higher
>Brix." I'm sold on Dave's integrity and expect that he would pass your name to the
>finer growers in his circle. Actually, Dave and I share a vision of coordinating the output of truly select
>farms to truly select customers who want nothing but the highest Brix food.
>Many people, such as you, aren't interested in buying a refractometer and
>doing a lot of testing. They're comfortable knowing that the food they plan to
>purchase has been verified. If all goes well, and FedEx can do their part, a
>workable program may gradually come online in the next year or so. I'll keep
>you informed if you would like.
I'm not quite sure where I'll be in a few years, and probably not in the
Great White North, but I hope your workable program comes to fruition and
many more people become aware of the difference between samples offered by
Safeway of Oakland and by those who put a bit more effort into cultivating
tasty produce. In the meantime, let me work on things here so that I can be
of some help to guys down the line.
One of yer fans,
Jo
