Jean-Louis knows more about coconuts than I do. The ones from Chinatown
(wrapped like huts) that I got were young and the flesh was very soft and
there was not much flesh. The young ones have a lighter color outside
shell. They go bad more easily than the older ones with darker shells.
The ones I had in Indonesia were also young and the flesh was soft. The
ones in my supermarket are older and there is more flesh, but the flesh
is dry. The one I got from Chinatown that I was suspicious of had a hole
in the bottom, not the three top holes that are natural.
My best, Ellie
