It's a little more complicated than that, even. It looks for a
primary partition on each drive -- on the boot drive, this will be
the boot partition. Then it looks for "logical volumes" inside
extended partitions. And then it looks for additional primary
partitions whos format it knows how to deal with -- it will ignore
any it can't.
THEN it's on to removable drives and CDs....
