Yes it does.

First, remember that EH did his research some time ago, and may not have had
examples of people who ate 100%raw fruit diets (some of whom seem to have
difficulty losing weight?).
In fact, he may have had his own idea of balanced nutrition in mind,
whatever ranges that covered) when he wrote that.

The meaning was that eating more than you needed would not increase the
weight.  I can't say more than that - its not my idea, and I don't believe
it one way or the other.  My own experience with 100%fruit, being
underweight when I started, was that I could eat as much as I could and not
put on  any weight (rather, I lost it = muscle loss by then!).
