Thanks for your input. Actually it turned out to be a conflict with the
W98/DOS 7 memory managers--my CD install program put a switch designation(
/170,14)in the config.sys line(used in older DOS stuff)that caused a
conflict. When this was removed all worked well(thanks to Bob Wright for
this info).
Now, if anyone can tell me where or give me a hint on how to find the MB
jumper to enable the secondary controller, if it exists, will be on my list
of computer aces :) (unable to ID MB, no FCC number on board, just "Made
in Taiwan" and "V16." FCC# on AOPEN case back indicates AESL Technology,
Inc.(Taiwan), who I haven't been able to find on net or Taiwan business
yellow pages.
