Hi Alvin,
YOu can easily rid yourself of the boot up splash screen. Pop in your Win98 cd,
choose "browse this cd", Select "Tools\reskit\powertoy" and install Tweak UI.
Tweak UI gives you an option to eliminate the splash screen plus many other
customizing options. Have a ball !
