Hi:

I happened on a problem yesterday which is a new one on me.  I was
working on a friend's computer.  He has a maxtor 1.2 gig HD, but it only
formats to about 520 meg.  I checked the partision info, and there is
only one which is using 100% of the drive.

Some additional info:  I checked the writing on the drive and it is in
fact a 1.2 gig HD.  Also, when I first boot up the computer (cmos?)
reports that it is a 1.2 gig HD.

I deleted the existing partision, and re-partisioned using 100% of the
drive.  then reformatted.  Again, it only formatted to aboot 520 meg.

Any information would be welcome.
