My sister is reporting that her 486DX-100 has just started loading into
safe mode when  first powered up. Along with this the following
appears."the desktop panel pops up and says check network or hardware
settings on control panel"
 Then she opens the control panel looks for any hardware conflicts, finds
none, then restarts the computer which seems to take longer then normal for
win95 to come up, but finally does in normal mode and everything runs fine.
 It just started doing this and no hardware changes or new drivers have
been loaded recently. What is causing this and is there any solution to
this? I suspect maybe a hardware device is on the verge
of going bad. Any ideas?

Windows 95b is installed on this system.
