Hi folks,

Thanks for all the suggestions.  The serial ports were disabled in
the CMOS.

My question - is there some way this would have happened without
actually going into the setup and disabling them?  I've done a virus
scan (Mcafee - updated at the end of April 1998) and found no
viruses.  Thanks for all your help and suggestions!
