Decided to switch on a trusty 486/DX100 and got this:
Disk I/O error-replace the disk

Decided it was time to update anyway, so replaced the motherboard with
an Asus P55
Disk I/O error
replaced hard drive
Disk I/O error
replaced floppy drive and tried to boot from there
Disk I/O error
getting desparate, replaced CPU, RAM, and even video board
Disk I/O error

There's nothing left except the box itself, mouse, and KB

What the devil is 'disk I/o error'?

I don't have anything left to replace...?
