Strange as it might sound.... using win 95B ...

1.      The C:\ Drive Never shows up under "Disk Drives" .. It does show up
under "hard disk controllers" and It does show up in "windows explorer" ...
and it works fine (just doesnt appear in Device Manager)

2.      Samsung CD-ROM comes and goes in Device Manager... When It 'goes' it
cannot be accessed through "windows explorer".. (nor anywhere else)

Device Manager looks like:

Hard Drives:
  Generic NEC Floppy Disk       settings= A:
  Iomega zip 100                settings= H:

Hard Drive Controllers
  Primary IDE controller (single fifo)  Interrupt Request 14

  VIA Tech Dual PCI IDE Controller              Interrupt Request 14

*** when CD-Rom recognized
  Secondary IDE                         Interrupt Request 15
