For anyone seeking information such as backdoor passwords to BIOS check out the
alt.2600 newsgroups. Additionally some of the software discussed in this list
will enable a user to read the BIOS password once the computer has been booted.
If you are looking to make it so that the users cannot access BIOS the only
thing I know of is a program call PCDACS. I am not very familiar with it, but
know that it provides PC security and I believe that security includes access to
the CMOS settings. I have no idea of the cost.
My recommendation is to find out who is doing it and try to enlist their help in
stopping others from doing the same thing. Face the facts that you are dealing
with someone who enjoys hacking your system and try to get them on your side.
The object is that they will probably also enjoy the challenge of keeping others
out.
