This is my first question so I hope I'm doing this right.

I have a 3-4 year old AMD486DX. My problem is with my small floppy
drive (original equipment). I first noticed (last week) that after
using a disk a couple of times, I would get the message A: Not
Accessable. I would go to My Computer and Explorer and it is as if
no disk is in there at all. I took one of these disks to another
computer and it can't read it either.

I checked all connections inside as I put in a new power supply about
3 weeks ago. I also checked my CMOS, it shows the drive there.

We keep all our data files on disk because we have a small hard
drive, and now I'm afraid to try and use any of them because I might
lose the data on them as well.

2 questions: What might be wrong with my floppy; AND is there anyway
to get to the data on the disks that have been damaged.

Thank you for your assistance.
