I prefer not to supplement my food intake with supplements of any kind but
there's always that nagging doubt about our depleted soils and the lack of
quality commercial produce. I've been taking Cell Tech's Super Blue Green
products and recently there's been reports of over-harvesting of the
specific algae from Klamath Lake which has preverted the ecology of that
aquatic system. The upset has proceeded to such a degree that another
species which normally grows in deeper waters has now risen closer to the
surface and is being harvested with the desired algae. Unfortunately, this
emerging species is toxic to humans and while Cell Tech has claimed that
their filtering process is adequate, other algae firms have suspended
harvesting altogether.

Aside from this, the discussion about vitamin B12 analogs supplanting the
body's ability to absorb "the real thing" may be a cause for concern so
some people await the results of Cell Tech's study of this of issue with
their products (has anyone come across this study which investigates
whether their products contain useable vitamin B12 vs analog form)? The
firm promised release of their results by year end 1997 so I'll send them a
note to remind them.

I haven't taken any algae product for a couple months now and I don't feel
any difference in my level of health. I have to admit I am doing some
research on AIM Barleygreen and Pines Barleygrass powders. Again, I'd like
to simplify my life and do without.

In the meantime, I'll consume dulse, kelp and other seaweeds.

Abundant Health, -jo-
