Hello every one,

   Ive come across, what seems to be a very strange monitor problem.   My
friend has an older compaque pressario computer, not sure what model.  Any way
the Monitor has a blackish stripe going almost down the middle of the monitor,
about 2.5 inches wide.   the picture is also offset like the horizontal scroll
on a television was messed up,( the picture goes off one side of the monitor
and contimnues back on the next side, then the black stripe).There is nothing
wrong with the monitor, as it was fixed before, by changing something on the
computer. If you just leave the computer alone, the problem goes away after 20
minutes or so after a cold start.  Also if you change the resolution to
640x480 it also goes away.
    Does any one have a clue to what the problem is?  I would welcome any
thoughts on the matter.
