Of course, I realize that conservation of the existing paper is an important
consideration. As usual, I am developing choices for my client and then
educating them to decide for themselves what to do.

Choice A. Conserve, Choice B. Replace, Choice C. ....

For each choice I
present the pros and cons, costs, likely outcomes, etc.. In my book,
empowering my clients to make their own decisions is what consulting is all
about. Early in my consulting work (c1985) I learned that simply telling
people what to do is frought with risk both for me and for my clients. Many
of the building problems I am called in to solve arise from mis-placed trust
in advisors who said, "do this, it is the only way."
