Thank you for your encouragement. I would be inclined to reply to the music
question by quoting Dirty Harry (as I've said, engineers are well-known to
be illiterate):
"A man's got to know his limitations". But I may have already blown that
defense by failing to recognize mine and posting the poem in the first
place.

The musically inclined members of my family, who are, to their misfortune,
acutely aware of the limitations of my musical talents, would probably
suggest that the only thing worse than an attempt by yours truly to set
words to music, would be my trying to sing it.
