One solution I have found through Sally Fallon is to soak the nuts
(almonds, sunflower, pumpkin, sesame, for 8-12 hrs, drain, then squeeze
lemon and sprinkle Celtic salt and kelp powder over them, stir, and then
dehydrate them for @24 hrs at a low temp. This creates a remarkably
yummy snack, kind of like the roasted tamari almond effect. Very
satisfying alternative to those crunchy, salty verboten junk-food
snacks. Use your imagination for many other marinade/seasoning options,
or check out Nourishing Traditions, S. Fallon's book....
May not be "evolutionarily correct," but it seems to work for me.
