Season for ama ebi is November through March. It can be frozen and Japanese
restaurants do this so to serve it year round. It will cost around $7/lb.,
which isn't too bad.

The salmon roe, which was salty, was $7.50 for 4 ounces! I ended up eating
most of it one-by-one with some chopsticks.
